As the Beastie Boys’ resident DJ, Mix Master Mike has contributed to all of the band’s albums over the last 12 years but he first made his mark by winning the DMC championships three years in a row in the 90’s, establishing him as one of the pre-eminent DJs in the industry.
Along with DJ Qbert he subsequently founded the turntablist group, The Invisibl Skratch Piklz with DJ Apollo and has gone on to produce albums by fellow DJ’s, most notably, Wave Twisters, by DJ Q-bert. Mix Master Mike is known for his heavyhitting bass and intricate scratch routines.
Mike's solo album Eye of the Cyklops won best electronic album in 2000 at the California music awards.
